Thrivorship
Dr. Julie Ohnemus founded the Breast and GYN Health Project after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996. In this video, she speaks to us about what Thrivorship is and how it differs from Survivorship because of its focus on healing instead of just a cure. Using her own story and lived experience, Dr. Ohnemus describes how Thrivorship can look after a diagnosis and provides a framework for integrating Thrivorship into your every day life.
"Thrivorship is like a fingerprint. It's unique to each one of us because it evolves out of our own authentic story and it is what makes us uniquely whole."
- Julie Ohnemus, MD
Associate Chief Medical Officer of Open Door Community Health Centers
and BGHP Founder
